Pushing a file which is generated runtime in an ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX-enabled environment

We have a page on which we can enter some values. When pushing on a button a file is generated using the entered values. While generation the file, a progress-indicator is shown. After the file has been generated we want to show it in a new window.

Using the controls collection recursively to find controls in the control hierarchy may cause unwanted side effects that may crash your ASP.NET application. It is concluded that the method HasControls is a safer way to check whether a control has child controls.

Als je voor thuis (semi-zakelijk) een PC koopt in een winkel heb je een redelijke kans dat je niet zomaar je Vista licentie kan kiezen. Later upgraden is nog steeds duur (190 euro), thuis loop je wellicht maar tegen 1 of 2 beperkingen aan, je kunt je Vista Home Premium niet remote overnemen met een RDP sessie en je hebt geen IIS.

Af en toe kom ik functionaliteit tegen waar ik wellicht wel over gelezen heb, maar die niet zijn blijven hangen, behalve -ofwel EXCEPT in SQL 2005- is zo'n functionaliteit.

Zoals wel vaker bij het installeren van een nieuw microsoft product neemt de software aannames aan die in een generiek product als windows gevaarlijk zijn en leiden tot ongewenste resultaten.

Suddenly an error occurred during a call to our webservice. There had been a change, a new certificate had been installed. Searching Google gave no result that solved the problem and the exception referred to some kind of SSL-errors.

We have a letter with an optional directions-page. When the directions aren't available we don't want the directions-page. If they are available, we do want a seperate directions-page.
